Собственно сабж.
Если bootsplash с темами plymouth обязаны быть всегда, /usr не может быть отдельным разделом:

$ cat /etc/sysconfig/grub2 | grep jpg
GRUB_WALLPAPER=/usr/share/plymouth/themes/slinux/grub.jpg

$ rpm -qf /usr/share/plymouth/themes/slinux/grub.jpg
branding-simply-linux-bootsplash-6.0.1-alt8

Какие компоненты plymouth и зависящее, не может находиться в /usr до монтирования оного?
