Платформа:
workstation-10.1-x86-64 - обновленный до Sisyphus

Пакеты:
xdg-utils 1.1.3-alt12

Шаги:
1) Создать на win сетевую папку с общим доступом
2) Подключиться к ней через xdg-open 
$ xdg-open smb://<ip-address>/DOWNLOADS

Результат:
Появляется ошибка 
gio: smb://<ip-address>/DOWNLOADS: Указанный адрес не подключён

Ожидаемый результат:
Успешное подключение к сетевой папке

Дополнительно:
Через caja  подключение и открытие папки проходит успешно
$ caja smb://<ip-address>/DOWNLOADS

Надо разбираться, почему не работает команда:

gio open smb://<ip-address>/DOWNLOADS
